A crack of glass and a burst of light
To fix the everlasting depth that plummets.
A depth that emerged from shadows and storms and passionate anger,
An intense excitement for a fiery destruction
And I drown in the silence that rings in my ears.
An emergence, they said
An emergence of light
But it was not light that emerged and swallowed the world
For it was an emergence of darkness
An evil that inhaled the joy from new beginnings
And wickedness that drank from our pain
Leaving us gasping for breath we could not find
In the harsh brilliance that could have been so much more.
